I consider myself to be very fortunate in having had a father who was in the habit of keeping mementos of what was once our family business - A Joy & Sons. Amongst my dad's papers were photos, newspaper cuttings, letters, business stationery and handwritten memoirs. It was this wealth of material that formed the basis of my book, Liverpool Cowkeepers, and the images are included in my illustrated talk, Liverpool Cowkeepers - A Family History.
Understandably, perhaps, it gives me no end of pleasure to receive the histories, memoirs and photos of your cowkeeping ancestors - either via this website or sometimes in person when people attend my talks. They make for such fascinating reading that I wanted to share them with a wider audience and I am grateful to the owners of these records for permitting me to publish them here:

If you have a written family history or memoir that you would like to share on this site (preferably with a related image or two), then do drop me a line.
